Caught the sock knitting bug?

Posted by Becky McLean on

Have you purchased one of the Sock it to Em kits? These are by far my bestselling products and I for one am hooked on knitting my own socks now!

Here are some helpful tips and tricks for knitting your super socks!

VeryPink Knits on YouTube is a fantastic channel for all your knitting niggles. I especially love this tutorial on turning the heel. At first it seemed a daunting thing (especially since I'd heard how difficult it's meant to be!)

Opal Bedtime Stories

I am currently knitting with Opal's Bedtime Stories 9895 "Grandma Lilly and the Magic Broom". It's a beautiful muted colourway perfect for men's socks.

The Nova Cubics needles have been a lifesaver for me. I have joint pain in my hands and the cuboid shape takes the strain out of knitting - especially helpful when I get into that "just one more row" mindset to see the pattern coming together!

I highly recommend using a row counter to keep track of your knitting. I used to just mark tallies on a piece of paper which interrupted my flow. I wish I'd started using a counter sooner!
